1) In the beginning of the film the teenagers are meant to be viewed as disrespectful and ignorant(stereotypical teenagers)
2) Certain signs were used in the film like the banana looking like a gun to make the audience think bad of the character. However the audience realise that they are wrong at the end.

2) Icons and indexes are important in media because there is more than one meaning to them. People can interpret them in different ways.
3) Companies may avoid using symbols because people can interpret in the wrong way. People could take offence to it so companies must be careful.
4) Kendal Jenner was in an advert for Pepsi which was very controversial as it seems to be a protest for black people and she seemed to save the day by giving the police a can of Pepsi. It received so much backlash.
